6 Google AdMob Alternatives: Mediation and Demand Options for Mobile Apps

Explore Google AdMob alternatives for app monetization. Compare AppLovin MAX, Unity LevelPlay, Unity Ads and more by product role, setup, payments and fit.

An AdMob alternative can replace Google's advertising demand, its mediation function, or both. These are separate decisions. Moving to a mediator without Google demand is different from keeping the current mediation stack and adding another approved network. Start with the exact reason for the change: review access, demand diversity, SDK operation or a different reporting workflow.

What to replace in your Google AdMob setup

A new mediator does not automatically approve every connected network, and adding networks does not bypass the policies of demand partners you continue to use. Keep account eligibility separate from SDK compatibility. The shortlist below includes mediation substitutes and complementary demand sources, with different roles shown in the table.

Google AdMob alternatives by use case

1. AppLovin MAX: A direct mediation alternative

MAX is relevant when you want to manage several networks through a different bidding and waterfall workflow. It replaces a mediation role, not every network account. Plan the MAX SDK, adapters and demand credentials separately, and confirm how each partner approves your app and settles revenue.

2. Unity LevelPlay: Another multi-network mediation route

LevelPlay is a second mediation option for developers comparing stack operation and reporting. It is distinct from Unity Ads and iSX demand. Before moving, check current SDK and adapter support for the formats and engines you use, along with each connected network’s account and payment requirements.

3. Unity Ads: A demand source for a defined placement test

Unity Ads is worth evaluating for supported game and app placements, particularly where rewarded or interstitial inventory matters. It is a network, not an equivalent replacement for AdMob mediation. Confirm the direct or mediated integration and assess net revenue, fill and retention on the same user cohorts.

4. Liftoff Monetize: Additional in-app demand through supported integrations

Liftoff Monetize is a candidate for supported formats using the current Liftoff/Vungle SDK or mediator adapter. Verify the naming and version requirements carefully. You are adding or replacing demand, so test the network independently from a change in mediation platform whenever possible.

5. Pangle: A market-specific demand comparison

Pangle is relevant where its app onboarding, developer-location rules and supported markets fit your business. Confirm those separately before integration. A network may have demand in a visitor country without accepting a publisher account from every business location, so do not infer eligibility from geographic reach alone.

6. Mintegral: Another source to test within a maintained stack

Mintegral is worth a controlled trial when its approved formats and adapter support match your app. App review, privacy and payment setup remain independent steps. Compare results by operating system, country and placement, not aggregate eCPM figures from apps with different audiences or ad frequency.

Before switching from Google AdMob

Map AdMob network demand, mediation configuration and any Google ad units separately. Keep production and test credentials distinct, update app-ads.txt where required and verify consent forwarding after each adapter change. Use staged releases or comparable cohorts, recording crashes, latency, fill, net ad ARPDAU and retention before scaling the new setup.

Every network can require its own app approval, privacy configuration and payment verification. A mediation account does not automatically approve the sources connected to it.

How to judge the result

Compare net ad ARPDAU, request coverage, fill, rendered-impression eCPM and impressions per user by OS, country and format. Include load latency, crashes and retention. A higher eCPM on fewer filled requests is not by itself a better monetization result.

We have not verified a controlled revenue benchmark or a comparable approval-rate dataset for this shortlist. The setup labels are editorial estimates, and all account-specific terms should be checked with the provider. The table links to official references and full profiles so you can confirm the details that apply to your business.

Which option should you shortlist?

MAX and LevelPlay are the relevant mediation substitutions. Unity Ads, Liftoff, Pangle and Mintegral are demand candidates that can be evaluated within a supported stack. Select the layer you need to change before choosing the company.
