8 Google AdSense Alternatives: Website Networks for Different Growth Stages

Explore Google AdSense alternatives for website monetization. Compare Media.net, Journey by Mediavine, Newor Media and more by product role, setup, payments and fit.

An AdSense alternative can mean three different things: a direct network with different ad formats, a managed service that runs your ad operations, or a bidding stack for an established publisher. Start with the reason you are looking elsewhere. A site awaiting its first approval has a different problem from a large publisher trying to reduce operational work.

What to replace in your Google AdSense setup

If Google declined the site for content or traffic-policy reasons, fix that issue before choosing a partner that also uses Google demand. For a conventional reading experience, start with contextual, display or managed placements. Popunder and SmartLink products belong in a separate test because their effect on visitors can be very different from an AdSense unit.

Google AdSense alternatives by use case

1. Media.net: Contextual advertising for content-led sites

Media.net is a useful first comparison when you want to keep advertising alongside editorial content rather than change to a pop-led model. Evaluate its contextual and programmatic offering against your language and audience mix. Approval remains a content and inventory decision; being an AdSense alternative does not make it an automatic route for a thin or unfinished site.

2. Journey by Mediavine: A managed route for a growing publication

Journey by Mediavine addresses publishers who want a managed service and are still building their audience. Compare its Grow and analytics onboarding with managing an AdSense implementation yourself. The main Mediavine program and Journey are separate products, so confirm Journey eligibility specifically rather than carrying over a threshold from another program.

3. Newor Media: Programmatic support for an eligible publisher

Newor Media belongs on the shortlist when your main goal is help operating display and video demand. You are evaluating a reviewed publisher partnership, not simply swapping one ad tag. Ask who handles placements, demand approvals and reporting, and compare the resulting net revenue against your existing AdSense baseline.

4. Adsterra: A wider choice of monetization formats

Adsterra offers display alongside Social Bar, Popunder and SmartLink options. That makes it worth considering when your business can support formats beyond a conventional display unit. Start with the exact format you intend to use; a good result from a popunder campaign says little about the result you should expect from an inline banner.

5. Monetag: An option for traffic outside a display-only setup

Monetag is relevant when you own website or social traffic and want to test SmartLink, OnClick or push-style monetization. This is a deliberate change in monetization approach. Check notification consent, navigation behavior and visitor trust before moving an editorial site to these formats, and do not select it only because another publisher reports quick onboarding.

6. Ezoic: Optimization tools as part of the decision

Ezoic is worth evaluating when you want a platform for testing and operating monetization, rather than only a network account. Ask about the available integration path, product costs and removal process. It is not a workaround for Google policy problems, and changes in page speed or layout must be measured alongside revenue.

7. Mediavine: Ad management for an established content business

Mediavine is a different operating model from maintaining an AdSense account alone. It suits a conversation about managed ad operations, content quality and the publisher services you need. Confirm the currently offered program and entry criteria directly; do not assume a historical session threshold still governs every Mediavine product.

8. Raptive: A managed service to compare at greater scale

Raptive is another option for original-content publishers considering a managed stack and operational support. Audience geography, site quality and analytics requirements are part of the application. Compare its proposed layouts and signed terms with Mediavine or your current setup; a higher revenue screenshot from an unrelated site is not evidence that your traffic will earn more.

Before switching from Google AdSense

Keep a record of your current placements, country and device mix, net page RPM and payment balance. Choose one direct-network test or one managed-service application first. Before changing code, confirm ads.txt responsibilities, inventory exclusivity and the removal procedure. Keep the old reporting available so a new dashboard does not erase your baseline.

Switching providers does not bypass Google publisher policies when the new partner also uses Google demand. Fix content or invalid-traffic issues before applying.

How to judge the result

Compare net page RPM and session revenue by country and device, with the same page templates and similar ad density. Check viewability, fill and page performance too. Account for fees, the payout threshold in your payment method and the delay before revenue becomes payable.

We have not verified a controlled revenue benchmark or a comparable approval-rate dataset for this shortlist. The setup labels are editorial estimates, and all account-specific terms should be checked with the provider. The table links to official references and full profiles so you can confirm the details that apply to your business.

Which option should you shortlist?

For a conventional content site, begin with Media.net or an eligible managed service. For traffic that can support a different ad experience, test Adsterra or Monetag separately. Select the option that fits your inventory and readers rather than treating all eight as interchangeable replacements.

Use the website platform directory to check the wider catalog, or open the Google AdSense profile to revisit the baseline requirements. This guide uses the existing directory research compiled November 3, 2026; it does not claim a fresh independent review of every provider policy.
